Brian, yes I would avoid all sectors unless you are a very nimble short term trader. Valuations are relative. In a bear market 90% of all stocks will fall but traditionally consumer staples and healthcare do best.

We had a huge increase in volatility today.

Normally that would mean a rally starting as early as Monday.

That is if the market continues to trade as it has since October 2002.

But if what happened in the bond market today is any clue then things have changed.

Remains to be seen.

As always just my humble opinions. I will say this to you that when I'm certain a long term bottom is being formed I will be buying right here in our favorite sector.
