Malone resigns from AT&T board By Jeffry Bartash 07/10/2001 12:24 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- John C. Malone, former head of cable giant Tele-Communications Inc., resigned one month earlier than expected from the board of AT&T, CNBC reported Tuesday afternoon. Malone, who solid TCI to AT&T in 1999, has been rumored to be interested in trying to acquire part or all of Ma Bell. Some analysts speculate that Comcast's official bid for AT&T's cable business might spur Malone to try to assemble his own takeover plan. AT&T officials and Malone could not immediately be reached for comment.
