My point was this: How many totally innocent people have to be ruined and never recover from that ruination to justify nailing the Hiss and Rosenberg types?

It's an excellent point, one I can't be unequivocal on. Those were different times and mistakes were made. My point was simple. There were spies at high levels that did much damage.

I find it ironic that you would rail against the ruination of innocents when that has been the hallmark of the Clinton/Gore administration. Even the destruction of Katherine Harris has been threatened.
