This has possibilities in both directions. This, again , is part of Obama's identity crisis just as his mixed race is a dilemna for him. Obama, the candidate, is Muslim via his father's religion that declares he is Muslim; then, Obama declares he is a Christian. There are Christian denominations that work to convert Muslims to Chistianity. For the Muslim men and women considering conversion their very lives are in danger as well as those of their families. Given that Obama is Muslim as well as Christian, his life could also be at risk at the hands of Muslims who object to his conversion to Christianity as is the case with those who convert to Christianity. This is leverage that could be used for the extremist to accomplish their goals against America. Being Muslim ,according to his birth, he would, imo be under tremendous pressure to consider this part of his identity in many decisions that he would make as President. This is very disconcerting to think an American President could be subject to the whims and demands of Muslims wanting to influence the governing of America because they have a man in office who is Muslim according to their laws. What would Obama do under pressure? When the images of his Muslim father enters his mind, what would he do? When images of his Muslim friends and ancestors enters his mind, what would he do? Would he bow to the influence of his Muslim heritage and to demands of currsnt Muslims----particularly the radical Muslims, Is America ready for a black or brown President? Definitely! Is America read/ for a President who is Muslim by virtue of his immediate father being Muslim and his father not being an American citizen----definitely not. Is America ready for a President who could let the Muslim laws supplant the laws of America as is now being done in some of the countries in Europe? mj
