PMAT's low k technology is interesting but so are several others.

The industry has not yet decided when to switch and what to switch to. Right now SiOF is the most popular low k material because it looks and feels most like the current material (evolution... not revolution). Most of the new materials (like PMAT's, Parylene, Polyimide, BCB etc.) require a change in process flows.

Semi manufacturers have already defined most processes and tool sets for the next generation devices (0.25um). This means current buys are for R & D. It's unlikely PMAT would see widespread use (i.e. big profits) for a few years to come.

MHO, of course.
