Hi Nancy; "Can you tell me what the purpose of telling these poor doomed sinners about the great gifts we have received is? Is it to show them what they can never receive because chose us and not them? I only see we are to give the Good News to all Nations and it does not tell us to condemn or decide who is not going to heaven only to love others as He has loved us." Nancy
Cor. 2:5 "20Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
God wants us to be Ambassadors and to be reconciled to God. We become reconciled by believing in Christ for no one comes to God without belief in Christ, the Son.
God is pleased that we honor His instructions to us when ever we tell ALL to be reconciled with Jesus for salvation. We can never know at what point a sinner will receive the grace of God that attracts the unbeliever to Christ. We are directed to preach the Gospel even though we ourselves, have no idea how God will use us in another persons life. GOD KNOWS in advance who will receive this favor, and He is using us to FULFILL His plans. It is just evident that many don't accept Christ because Christ has not accepted them. WILL HE? WE dpn't know. All we know is that He has directed us to preach the Word to whomever.
2 Thessalonians 3:
5which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer; 6since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, 7and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who £believe, because our testimony among you was believed. 11Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power, 12that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ."
God is going to JUDGE and PERSECUTE those who do not obey His Word with fire and destruction! When we tell sinners that He will judge them who do not repent it will probably cause anger and reprisal as you are seeing on this thread. Paul was persecuted beyond belief for preaching to sinners. He didn't quit just because the crowd thought that he was overstepping his authority. A Christian of honor will not recant any Holy Words used to tell the unbelievers that they are going to hell! Very unpopular, you know. Very unpopular among those who are traveling with the world along the path of destruction.
2 Timothy 4:
"1I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead £at His appearing and His kingdom: 2Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry."
Just be a friend to me Nancy. I personally have not pre-judged the Jews. But I can tell you what has already happened to them and what is going to continue to happen to them. It is written in the Bible.
All my best in all sincerity,
