Upon reading part of her bio at wiki, I can see how Whitman would appeal to Californians. On February 9, 2009 Whitman announced her candidacy for Governor of California. The election will take place November of 2010. Whitman supports abortion rights, same-sex civil unions, and adoption rights for same-sex couples, but not same-sex marriage.
