Krugman's wrong on China By Thomas P.M. Barnett OP-ED: Empire of Carbon , By PAUL KRUGMAN, New York Times, May 14, 2009 Link A dangerous argument from Krugman for knee-capping the Chinese on carbon generation through punitive protectionism. It's dangerous because it will be self-defeating if pursued. I would have expected something a bit more innovative from a Nobel Prize winner whose past research highlighted the value of free trade. Fortunately, Krugman is such a caustic, off-putting crank that he enrages more than informs.
