Markets don't move in straight lines in either bull or bear markets and the indices are in for a zigzag today. This will prove temporary, however. Not until interest rates are expected to start rising significantly will the underlying bullish sentiment shift. Historically, bull markets have tended to end when the market starts looking past the uptrend in economic and profits to slower growth, most often because rising interest rates start to serve as a natural brake. The market is nowhere near that yet.
