"How long does it typically take in the Andes to determine whether a discovery is commercial or not?"

In the Andes? What about Nevada, or China? It depends of what the drilling tells. It could be suddenly apparent and result in a takeover sooner than anyone could guess (long before feasibility - yes, it's happened), or it could take many years. Just recall the adage, "Nothing happens on time in the mining business," and trust in the geology and management to get the job done, or you will drive yourself crazy. If holding any issue raises doubts to an unconformable level, dump it and move on. Better yet, if you are impatient and/or emotional and/or overly questioning, don't get invovled in the junior resources sector. It's a crap shoot for newbies. Stick with NEM.
