METALLIC VENTURES GOLD INC. ANNOUNCES START OF DRILLING PROGRAM AT ITS CONVERSE PROJECT IN NEVADA

Metallic Ventures Gold Inc. has started its development/exploration drilling program at its Converse project in Humboldt county, Nevada, that was previously stated in news issued in Stockwatch on Oct. 17, 2006.

The company has budgeted $2.5-million to complete the program, during the first and second quarters of 2007. Two reverse-circulation drilling rigs have commenced drilling, and a core drilling rig is expected to be on site and drilling within the next few weeks. The Converse project drilling program will provide four types of information. First, core holes will generate core for use in metallurgical and geotechnical analysis. Second, reverse-circulation holes and core holes will define the periphery of the deposit, and identify suitable areas for heaps, dumps and infrastructure. Third, reverse-circulation and core holes will explore along two north-south structural trends. Finally, the program will help define Newmont's future participation in Converse.
