And is anyone arguing, outside the White House, that things are getting better in Iraq because of our human "investment"? We're at that point where just about everybody realizes Iraq is a dead end, yet no one has the courage to call it quits, to "lose the war".

McCain is making an argument that we should increase substantially our troop levels. If he had not been through vietnam first hand, this might even be forgivable.
