Tonight, over a delicious meal of Veal Marsala and a lovely bottle of Two Vines wine my husband and I (and no.....I won't marry you ;) were having a conversation and there was a difference of opinion. For what ever reason, he was doing his best to try to destroy my argument. Of course that didn't work and so the conversation just wasn't going anywhere. I suggested that the only way we were going to be able to communicate was if we both agreed that we shouldn't let our opinions limit our understanding of one another. Hard, I know, but definitely not impossible.

When we both accepted that premise the conversation blossomed I made the commented that if the day ever comes where all people are willing to practice listening we'd be able to "see" a lot further than we do.

I really hope this happens.

It would be an incredible evolutionary step and imo get us closer to understanding one another and our world.

I don't think it is a disease among the left and believe we are all guilty of making that mistake. Albeit some are more guilty of that trait than others.

People naturally put up walls. Berlin, Great, Jamie Gorelik, so it must be something ingrained in us.........that's a whole nuther topic.....but if we want our world to be a better place and make logical decisions that ensure our safety we need to stop building those darned walls.

Especially the kind of walls Klein insists on building.
