Guy,

After reading your thoughts on the Zip and the LS-120, it became clear to me that there are simply too many pros and cons for either product to become The Standard without significant improvements that meet or exceed the needs of the customer.

Today we want removable-media that's as fast as a hard disk, as small as a floppy, as indestructible as a CD-ROM, has the capacity of a tape back-up, fits into a laptop, is compatible with every configuration and costs less than $100. If someone could make it today, we would buy one tomorrow because it would solve all of our storage problems. Since we can't buy one, we'll probably settle for the next best thing... a combination of two or more devices that together meet our individual needs.

My point is simply this: We don't NEED today's ZIP or LS-120 to become The Standard until more of the cons become pros.
