The Talmud is a huge compilation of oral law that covers centuries, and it's even better than Scripture for picking quotes out of context, claiming that a reference to one person is really code for a reference to another, or even simpler, making stuff up, as only learned religious Jews can tell the difference.
As for Thomas M., I don't think he gives two straws for the PLO or the Palestinians, but he sure does hate Jews with a passion. He will bring up anything that sounds bad for Jews and does not limit himself to the fashionable cover of anti-Zionsim.
I'll be interested in your review of the movie. From what I saw in the promo, it sounds quite gruesome. The guy who played Jesus said that he had a board on his back when he was being flogged, but the flogger missed and hit him a couple of times, and he has the scars to prove it. |
