It's a very credible theory, too.

If Obama were a good writer, he would have written and published in law school and during his tenure as a law professor.

If Obama were a good writer, he'd have released his grades and test scores. [Good writing has a bearing on both.]

If Obama were a good writer, his speeches would actually have memorable passages and language instead of ho hum grandiosity.
