You're right about the increased global nature of the market. I believe all the currency problems in Asia are going to throw everything on end. That seems to have been the case for the last couple of weeks. It's not just a few countries, but the whole region and there are the problems in Europe too. Somehow I doubt it will make any difference when people come back from vacation. Doesn't look good.
