Actually, this ISN'T what I remember. I remember Kerry not responding effectively to the swiftboating and the "flip-flopper" charges. He didn't seem to really WANT to be President as much as Bush did, after all, he is married to a billionaire. Kerry would have been better than Bush, but against a different opponent, I might not have even voted for him. What really turned me off is that Kerry said he'd have STILL voted to authorize the war, in 2004. He's changed his tune now, but WAY too late.

On the contrary, I think he did want it badly and still does. I don't think he knew how to respond to the swiftboating. Remember everyone was a bit surprised that they would come out and make such offensive statements. Maybe he believed his truth would prevail. He didn't realize that Americans believe everything they are told on the tube.
