Guy,

>> Whoever it was at Iomega, who decided on this price point and made it stick, deserves a gold medal<<

It was potential customers who set the price point. IOMEGA conducted extensive market research (i.e. focus groups with customers) to determine exactly what customers wanted and how much they were willing to pay for it. WE set the price point. That is the beauty of this company. Although many companies in recent years have jumped on the band wagon in claiming to be market/customer driven, IOMEGA has executed the concept to perfection. If IBM would have developed ZIP, they would have been greedy and brought it to market at $400, thus severely limiting its potential. I too would have thought twice at $300. Like you and I, the customersg IOMEGA interviewed must have also pointed towards $200 as the magic number.

People talk about ZIP, people talk about JAZ. These are obviously great products, but IMHO it is KE and rest of IOMEGA's management that makes the stock worth so much. Solid management with excellent vision cannot be overvalued.
