I hate to even think of having to get a root canal done. Have had a few and man are they expensive.

My wife just had over $4000 in gum surgery just to the lower front gums (about 1.5 inches). I was shocked.

However, I am much more understanding of dental bills now that my son is in dental school. He is at an in-state school at reduced rates. Tuition, fees and normal student living expenses (single) will cost a little over $200,000 and four years of studying and then one or two years of low income intern type work are recommended.

His alternate dental school was private a university - University of Pennsylvania. That would have cost closer to $450,000. He had a professor that went to Dental School there and did not finish paying back his student loans until he was in his 40's.
