Arnold has moved energetically on the Gay Marriage question. I see he order to Attorney General to quash them.

Schwarzenegger directed Lockyer "to take immediate steps" to get a definitive court ruling declaring the city's actions illegal.

Lockyer is a moderate Democrat and I don't know if he will drag his feet on this. And I don't know if Arnold has any power to direct him, other than "moral persuasion." But the indications are Lockyer will uphold the law.

So this means that if the Law is upheld, the "Marriages" performed will not be registered with the State and therefore not legal. But you can be sure that some of the people who participated will split sometime in the future and wave the "Marriage Certificate" at a court to try to get them to enforce the normal "divorce" laws.

Could get interesting.
