Kitchener: If you see a driver using the turn signal, you can bet he's from out of town. The locals don't seem to know what they're for. That's Toronto...

On a 60kph thoroughfare cross from right lane to middle lane NO signal @ 80 KPH
Cross from middle lane to left lane NO signal @ 65 kph.
Once in left lane reduce speed to 45 kph so as not to miss imminent left turn lane 2 klics ahead.. Avoid all use of mirrors unless hair is askew, nose needs picking, or you must converse with passenger in back seat..
Cross from left lane to left turn lane NO signal 30 kph.
Once firmly in left turn lane and almost at a stop turn on left signal and stop just inside intersection to secure the turn... wait.
When your light turns RED you are clear to go.. step on the gas and proceed through intersection slowly... Make sure your index finger is prepared to flip at all those people cursing you as they miss their advanced green... Yell at your kid to make sure groceries are held firmly in place by seat belts and to not hang out the window by more than half...

Alternative plan... turn on direction signal (preferably but not necessarily towards desired direction) which initiates special Toronto cloaking device (Probably Kligon in design).. and just go.. do not hesitate, do NOT check your mirrors... shields are up...

Toronto: I've never seen so many people driving with
their left arm hanging out the window.
Funny I don't notice that (Except for me of course) Likely a downtown thing..

I lived in London before TO... it's better IMO

sigh..
