The Virginia Senate and House of Delegates are quite divided on the tax issue - I think the Senate is asking for two loaves, hoping to get a half. There is a quote in today's Washington Post by the bill's sponsor to the effect that the taxes "will fund Virginia's needs well beyond our tenure here." washingtonpost.com As for Kerry somehow getting the Virginia vote because Virginians are mad about tax increases, I don't follow the logic. Kerry favors federal tax increases. Warner doesn't impress me, but I am not a good judge of Democrats. I liked Bradley and Lieberman.
