I've shut down my market data feed for the evening so I cannot look specifically at the times you mentioned....I've also been lax printing out the charts so as yet I have no hard copy.

But I'll presume we're on the same page with regard to what the spread did at the times you brought up....and again it's only a warning signal concerning trend change.

Personally...I watch spread on 5 minute bars and my clues are predicated on 4 ticks (20 minutes). That is to say, if nothing after 20 minutes (for this example the market is moving downwards)....5 more minutes....Nothing?, 5 more. New low? 4 more ticks (20 minutes). Higher high? Be on guard for an upside reversal.

Does this help? Try it anyway. Again....keep in mind it's only a trading 'clue'..nothing more.
