The idea of putting out a huge block that would last a while would make sense but we have an issue with Pa State Game officers. They have enormous power, more so than some LEO's and they take it seriously. We actually have to make sure there are no remnants of mineral or salt blocks, even on our own property, during big game seasons. They consider this baiting.

I'm going to look for minerals/salt in a tub and figure out when it can be on the ground and if I can then move it during the hunting seasons. Oddly, the game commission does not care if you plant anything that might draw deer. Only seems they don't like it if you purchase blocks or seed and set it out.

The ground has been covered with autumn leaves for probably 100 + years. The soil is loose and has little stone or clay. I think it would grow very good crops. So, a tiller is in the works.
