Even Intel does not know how to meet the challenge from the sub-$500 PC market, how do we know what they are going to do with their PII?

All thes recent researches on the cacheless PII-266 have shown that it might be as fast as Cyrix MediaGXm 233Mhz (which uses SDRAM to enhance system performance) if not slower. Intel might have come to the same conclusion and might shy from their cacheless PII project.

The falling ASP and reducing earning are making Intel panic about the extra $10 L2 cache cost from SLOT1 design. Intel claimed that their extra L2 cache cost is $20. You know that I never trust what Intel cliams one month after I bought their Intel 287 co-processor.
