And this sort of situation is good for the children...how? It just seems so fake. state recognition of marriage would go a long way toward clearing up gay and lesbian parenthood disputes. Really? Now, if a biological mother marries a man not the child's biological father, I believe that that man must adopt the child for him to have parental rights and responsibilities, and for the child to receive any benefits such as SS. How would this be any different for gay or lesbian couples? Wouldn't any non-biologically related person have to adopt the child, regardless of gender or "marital" status?
