I've got this mental image of them "standing up" as the Zulus did to the British garrison in the movie "Zulu", with the Green Zone standing in for the Brit's little S. African Fort Apache...

At Isandlwana the British were pretty much out in the open. There was no fort. It was an unfortified camp, and the British were outnumber by close to 20 to 1. At Rorke's Drift where the British had a build up position they won, even though the Zulu's outnumbered them to an even greater degree than at Isandlwana. And of course the British won the war, so it might not be the best example to make the point that your trying to make.
