Abortion. The one subject that really does stir things up here. It's the religious aspect, of course. The concept of the "soul" divides us.

Those of us who think there is one and that it is injected in the body at conception see all abortion as murder.

Those of us that don't believe in the concept or in the "not sure" category, are willing to accept some types of abortion. Few will object to the "morning after" pill or want to bury a late period. Most will swallow a first term, but get squeamish about a second. Most will not accept a late term one, when the baby is killed in the womb while being aborted.

The far-out crowd see killing at birth or soon after as acceptable. That's our Princeton Prof and his followers. And the Eugenics crowd from the '30s who were all for Hitler eliminating the stupid and disabled.

That's why the "Rowe vs Wade" decision was the wrong way to go. It's a political matter that should be hammered out in the legislatures. Where we are right now is where we will stay, I think. The rest of the world is mainly lined up on the issue the same way we are.
