I've seen this kind of thing before, with V.ATF Alternative Fuel Technologies. They're a company with great products (natural gas/diesel dual or natgas/gasoline dual fuel conversion kits, and an excellent new catalytic converter design) which have been in development for at least 10 years and are now coming into mass production. They made a profit in their development years, but now that they've made the commitment to mass production, new orders can't seem to keep up with the costs and they're making a new private placement at below market price every couple of months just so they can keep paying their staff. This is because, like ERC, they're determined to go it alone instead of taking on a big corporate partner. The private placements are depressing the share price (and the shareholders!) Either they'll go bankrupt or they'll strike it rich over the next year, I'm not sure which.

ERC is not quite at that stage yet. If the ATF analogy holds, they'll have a honeymoon period first when they announce their first real commercial order. The share price will double or triple, but then if they don't have a steady stream of orders coming in after that the share price will go all the way back down again. So when they get that first big order, don't be greedy for more, take profit while you can.
