"In Windows Explorer, I have 37 of these: File0001,File0002, etc." okay, i found the same files on my pc. i don't know what they are. i'm waiting for someone else to help. :) their pathname on my system appears to be: C:\FILE0001._DD from what you've described, they sound like cookies or temp internet files. we'll know soon... anybody? :) mark
