Thomas, of course Chris dramatically overstated/misstated things in regard to Moslems considering it an honor to murder Christians. And it may be the picture of Moslems you paint is true of a majority of the Moslems of the world, in particular western-educated Moslems.
However, it is a fact that there is still today a good deal of persecution of Christians in Moslem lands, including Egypt and Saudi Arabia. A short search on google turned up a number of links reporting such persecution in Egypt, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Indonesia, and elsewhere - including non-Moslem countries like China.

Okay, I'll stop with these links. All in all, there is a massive amount of documentation out there of active, ongoing persecution of Christians and it would seem that the Moslem countries are in the lead in this activity, though some non-Moslem countries are involved as well. Furthermore, the persecution isn't limited to a particular country going through troubled times (i.e. Indonesia) but is widespread.
You mention that you travel to Egypt frequently. Have you had much candid contact with members of the Christian minority in that country? |
