If the electoral college accident of 2000 happens again in 2004, that is with bush the winner(it could always happend the other way too) it will be a very bad occurrence. It seems to me the electoral college can be replaced with direct election or at least a way to prevent the disortions of smaller states and/or nader type candicacies. mike
PS When they started counting the votes in 2000, one network anchor suggested early on that gore could win the electoral vote but lose the popular vote--thats what the exit polls were showing. But add nader and slight percentage changes within the realm of statistical error and voila we got the opposite. I think it was CNN but not sure.
