I have been reading comp.sys.sgi.hardware looking for some information and I ran across a really interesting thread. The original poster was in need of a webserver and wondering if to build an intel/linux box or to buy a used SGI or SUN box. Remember, this was posted to the SGI hardware group. Several people responded and suggested buying either a new or used SUN box because "SUN is the way everyone's going." Originally, the post seemed like "flame-bait" and instead it turned out to be an advertisement for Sun. The truly amazing thing was that the recommendations went unchallenged.
