Sure. All things end when they end. But, where do they end?

Don't forget - ALL the RISC chip vendors, many of whom are now extinct, predicted that the x86 architecture was stretched to the limits and near death after the 486 was introduced in 1989. It's nearly 1997, and I'd say the x86 is still going strong.

Thanks for the anecdotal info on PC sales. I'm looking forward to Intel's Q3 & Q4 reports.
