The irony about the Left is that, in practice, its actions are exactly the opposite of its expressed POV.

They verbally advocate freedom of choice, but actually mean the freedom to choose what they think you should select. [e.g. abortion over birth, career versus stay at home motherhood, aetheism or agnosticism rather than religious beliefs, reliance on government versus self-reliance, etc.]

They claim we are too good as a people to engage in what they claim to be *torture*, yet they give us no credit for being the good people we are and are unable to recognize real evil when it confronts us. [That's why they applaud the Obama apology tours and can't even see that the man ignores history and is intent on dissing his own country.]

And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

So, it is hardly surprising that the left chooses to promote an entirely different slant on history.
