Is the problem with running the OS off CD? It makes sense that Win95
or NT may have a problem as they need to write to the harddrive..swap/page file.
What about DOS?

No there is no issue with this, of course many OS'
s will not run completely off Read only media. Most PC OSs DOS/netware,3.1,95,OS/2 can run in a diskless envrionment with network card with a boot ROM. IBM calls the process RIPL (ripple) Remote Initial Program Load. Its not widely used. Its main application is in higher security environments where you want centralized storage and security of data and no means (ala removable media) to steal information. With a CDR you could certainly run 95 etc you just need to have somewhere network or local to store tempoary and swap info.

My statement was based on the apparent lack of success to create DOS bootable CD's. Seems like some people are doing it. I will certainly be trying this.

Thanks for URL. I have seen people struggling with this on the adaptec list. Its really cool that the Drive Image image in an ISO standard that CDR software can read. I wonder if this is a new 2.0 feature. Definitely very cool.

BTW: I haven't upgraded to CD Creator 3.5 yet,it doesn't really have any new features that I want. I don't even use any of the deluxe stuff. Most annoying caveat with 3.0X, dunno if its fixed in 3.5, is that to do a DAO audio CD copy you must using CREATOR. The copier program will ALWAYS insert two second gaps. I find this program so easy to use and effective that I use it 90+% of the time. I disk juggler sometimes or golden hawk for copies sometimes. The cover creator is just right for non artistically inclined people like myself.
