Bob can answer most of that, but I'll take a stab at a couple of them.

>>1) In Advanced Search could boxes 1, 2, and 3 be changed to Combo Boxes so we can just type in Criteria instead of having to Peoplemark/Subjectmark first to get the selection list updated ? Not talking about updating the selection list from the search just adding oneups ie. if I want to search on SI Admin (Dave) but don't have you peoplemarked I could just type it in....

The search terms are actually unique FromID, ToID, and SubjectID numbers, respectively. The drop down list from your PeopleMarks and SubjectMarks pass the appropriate identifier to the search query, not the alias or subject title. It wouldn't do any good to search on the alias or subject title since they are not necessarily unique, not to mention that it would be a much more costly query.

>>3) In Edit my profile why are we restricted to one year changes in alias ? Especially now with the Account number in plain view it would seem unnecessary ?

The account number is no more "in plain view" than is was before. It's always been in various URLs. Anyway, why would Aliases need to be changed more often? Members know others members by their Alias, not their account number. In my opinion, frequent alias changes would make our boards more "Yahooish".

There was some earlier open discussion about making Alias history public, which died on the vine. The absence of a publicly accessible history and allowing members to change their own alias once each 12 months is a good balance between participant continuity and user privacy.

>>4) Referring to #2 above can we get a favourite links like iHub ?

Bob is planning to allow users to categorize their SubjectMarks. I'm not sure if he's planning to provide a Favorite Links feature. It seems to me that Browser Bookmarks are more appropriate for that.... but that's just my opinion.

>>6) Searching for Got a winning position? In Advanced Search (with or without the '?') gives the following...

Interesting. Searching for [winning position got a] works.
