Actually, I believe there ARE technically better engines than the age-old boring gasoline engine. However, they always need funky new kinds of fuel or have different maintenance needs or something. There's too much investment in the gasoline engine for the "better" designs to get going (except in, say, the military and other niches).

What does this say about Intel's longevity?
