A few reasons. With the recent performance my losses were cut quite a bit. I didn't like the large capital gains/taxable return of capital at the end of the year. I see global weakness and wish to stick closer to home(US).
But I also think markets are ahead of themselves, that could be demographics, the younger generation has to put their money somewhere. April 15th is approaching, 2018 contribution window is closing.
And....I suspect the price of oil will start to hit the headlines. I believe we could see a sizable spike higher coming into summer.
Honestly, the contrarian in me feels uneasy (g) and wants a bit more cash on the sidelines.
