This will be necessary since WIND won't have the designers to modify their products for thousands of complex and discrete uses." Your friend misunderstands. You buy the RTOS from WIND (or anyone else for that matter) so that you can spend your time building an application. You don't customize the RTOS (in a sense of changing source code). Instead you add your own value by writing/customizing the surrounding application. What you buy is the freedom from having to re-invent a perfect wheel (the OS) every time. And note.. the wheel MUST be perfect. mac :)
