They could also market themselves better if they stuck to a fixed rate. But I think that, little by little, we'll see commission rates decline across the board as more and more independent investors participate in the market. In the meantime, I won't mind paying the extra rates IF e.Schwab's fills and customer service warrant them. Otherwise, certainly not.
