GlobalNet, AIC Agreement Expected to Help Both Further Penetrate Latin American Market

LOMBARD, Ill., Apr 25, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- GlobalNet, Inc. (Nasdaq: GBNE chart, msgs), a leading provider of international voice, data and Internet services over a private, managed Internet Protocol (IP) network, today announced it has signed an agreement with privately held American Internet Communications (AIC) that will permit both companies to increase their network traffic in growing Latin American markets.


The agreement was made possible by GlobalNet's recently announced capability of seamlessly transporting voice-over-IP (VoIP) traffic across diverse networks through its proprietary technology.

"GlobalNet's new technical capability now makes it possible for us to work closely with established in-country carriers such as AIC, which will benefit both of us in the expanding Latin American Market," said GlobalNet President Dan Wickersham.
