I remain confident that Novellus will fare well in the months ahead. Money Magazine just forcast a drop in the markets of 15-30% over the next 12 months. While small to mid cap companies like Novellus generally perform poorly in these conditions, I think that it has a number of things going for it. 1) a price/earnings ratio that remains low compared to the market at large. 2) predictions of higher book/bill ratio in late 97/early 98. 3) very little long term debt 4) good penetration in foreign markets and 5) the leading position in chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Is this too rosy an assessment? I'd love some feedback.
