Colin: Could you please tell me which day will be the last day to sell the stock for 1997 tax loss. Somebody told me that Dec. 26 (Friday) will be the last because 3 days of settling period. But others told me that as long as I sell it by Dec. 31, I can claim as this year loss. I looked at the confirmation from my on-line broker, the record for selling the stock was the date of my order, not the day of settling. Hope you could help me on this. Thank you so much.

Happy holiday.
