<Anyone have opinions and insights on NT vs Unix share in web and intranet servers going forward? My experience is that SI might be having trouble with its NT platform...

I've always thought that Unix is simply more robust.>

I can tell you that a buddy of mine that works as a producer for a major MSFT web site has told me that they have serious problems with the 1500 NT servers that are used to house web services throughout Microsoft.

It appears that they are clustering servers and load-balancing to meet demand (A single NT 4.0 box is incapable of handling significant load) and they have consistent crashes and downtime on these servers.

This particular individual would love to switch to a UNIX solution, but of course that is politcally incorrect within Microsoft.
