Someone let Larry "Lines" Kudlow loose on the CNBS set again! cnbc.com Larry waxes about the virtues of the budget surplus, indicating it is the result of prudent fiscal policy and unexcelled productivity, and that BubbleBoy risks killing it with his meddlesome rate increases. Never mind that it is the product of an asset bubble combined with lowered capital gains taxes, resulting in massive overtrading (and a side effect of increased taxes for the feds). Never mind that the capital gains tax reduction was a one shot phenomenon, resulting in a nonrecurring windfall. Larry, get your nose out of the....well, get it back in the history books and catch up on your reading.
