<David, the fact that Zip is an option makes CompuUSA ineligible for this particular list, which lists all the SKUs (to the best of my ability) which have Zip as a standard feature. BTW, if you were to attempt to construct a list of "Zip option" OEMs and SKUs it would be a humongous task.>
While what you said is true, considering that extremely limited number of options you can have built into a CompUSA computer, I believe this is very significant.
You can pick a CPU, CASE, Graphics Card, Modem, Sound Card, Hard drive, speakers, Network card, and Ram. You have about 4 choices in each of those catagories. Now for the fun part. Your options are limited to only 3 things. IOM Zip drive, Tape drive (only one kind offered but can't remember whose), and or MSFT home essentials.
The key is that nothing else is offered as even an option. No LS-120's, DVD, or special requests. Period the end. The sales peoples are practically forced to say, "and did you want to add the IOM zip drive?" Look at their web page! |
