Re metal price bonuses: Butte, MT has not participated in the growth and modernization that other MT cities have. It is like Sudbury would be if Inco and Falconbridge shut down 20 years ago. An up-thrust fault moved a deposit of copper/moly near surface to the east of Anaconda's "richest hill on earth". Denny Washington, a Montana boy who became wealthy in a lot of different endeavors, got the deposit from Anaconda/Arco when they closed and mined it at a profit until high power costs and low metal prices shut things down. When he went to re-open it he asked the boys to take a cut in pay in return for a metal prices bonus. which they did! With moly and copper up, the rumors are the bonuses run to $50,000 p.a. which some say are too high. BS!! the boys took the cut and deserve whatever the agreement said. but with the money flowing, I like the comment "rumor has it that new paint has been spotted in Butte"
