GEC Eyes Fore Systems Takeover, Says Report Fore Systems declined to comment on Monday on a report that said the Warrendale, Pa., networking company was close to being bought by Britain's General Electric Co. London's Sunday Business newspaper said GEC was close to acquiring a telecommunications company and one likely target was ATM-pioneer Fore, valued at $2.5 billion. Jim
